Tell Me If You’ve Heard This One Before On a Sunday afternoon, a priest sits on a park bench to break bread with his regular “flock” -- a group of pigeons. As he’s enjoying his usual company, a stranger joins him. The priest casually turns to acknowledge his new friend and who he discovers is a Buddhist monk. With an open palm, the priest gestures to the end of the bench and, with a smile, the monk takes a seat and pulls out a similar bag of crumbs. Both engage light conversation, and the priest says, ”You know, there is only one thing we need to complete this picture…” Both look up to see a rabbi with a brown bag of crumbs. The priest and the monk motion him to join them. The three go on to have a spirited and lively conversation about their common challenges and differences in this enlightening film. |
